This includes fruits and vegetables. Your body needs these food groups as they contain valuable nutrients. The Atkins Diet tricks your body into burning fat. It may work if you need to lose 10 pounds, but is never a good idea for the long haul. And most people who just look for a quick weight loss answer end up piling the pounds back on again, and then some. You are better off to come up with a sensible plan that you can follow all the time that will allow you to boost metabolism and burn calories.

This does not mean that you can never again have a piece of cake. But you should do so in moderation. By being aware of how certain foods in your diet, such as proteins, allow you to boost metabolism, and how some, such as simple carbohydrates, allow it to crash, you can maintain a healthy weight or engage in healthy weight loss.
